The Palace in the Sky was built for former Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos. Guests and media could still recount the lavish parties held there. The ostentatious display of wealth and power of the Marcoses was still as awesome as it was today. The palace was opened to the public and was called the People's Park after the exile of the former presidential family outside the country.
There was not much to be seen here. It was just like a big function hall where a mini playground was created outside for visiting children and a garden where people can stroll around. There were several stalls which sell food and beverages to visitors.
However, the place has one of the picturesque view of Taal and the whole of Tagaytay. The climate was so cool and refreshing, since it was located at a very high place (hence, it was called the Palace in the Sky).
The place is still worth seeing. The fact is it is still one of those elegant abodes of then President Marcos, which perches high up in the mountains just like where his family still seems to be.....
